Worker injured in workplace fall on the Gold Coast

A worker has been transported to hospital in the second serious workplace incident in as many days on the Gold Coast.

Paramedics attended the workplace in Broadbeach Waters just after 11 am this morning after reports of a worker falling through a roof.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman explained that the man in his 40s had fallen four to five metres, and suffered leg and chest injuries. He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The incident comes just over 48 hours after two workers were injured, one critically, after suffering flash burns while completing electrical work on Tuesday. It is understood the men were installing solar panels. The critically injured worker remains in Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Workplace Health and Safety is investigating the incidents.
