Trade and construction licence fees waived

Trade and construction licence fees waived

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced that up to 200,000 license holders for the trades and construction industries will not be required to pay licence fees worth up $50 million.

“These fee waivers will deliver much-needed relief for small businesses, at a time when cash flow is crucial,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“Up to 200,000 licence holders will benefit from this fee relief package over the next 12 months. It is the least we can do to support these businesses and their staff through this challenging time.”

The measures are designed to ensure that essential trades and construction works continue during unprecedented economic times.

Minister for Customer Service Victor Dominello explained that “these measures put business and workers first so they can continue to be the lifeblood for their communities across the State.”

This is the first stimulus incentive that has been provided specifically to the construction and trades industries. There is an additional program that is offering fee waivers on things like liquor licenses for hospitality venues, in addition to waivers on SafeWork NSW and NSW Fair Trading fees and charges.
