Worker crushed by 300kg of glass

A worker has been seriously injured after a workplace accident in Sydney’s Greenacre yesterday when close to 300kg of glass fell on him.

The exact circumstances surrounding the issue are not yet known, but emergency services workers attended the site just after 2:30pm. Specialist medical workers and four emergency services crews attended the site.

The worker suffered serious injuries to his shoulder and head, and following treatment by paramedics on-site, was transported to Liverpool Hospital.

Caitlyn Murphy, the Duty Operations Manager for NSW Ambulance, has explained that “paramedics are always prepared for the worst, particularly when attending worksite incidents like this.”

“You never know what can go wrong at a worksite and how extensive the injuries will be.

“Paramedics did a great job getting there quickly and treating the man who had extensive injuries including serious head and shoulder injuries.”
