“Horror” incident on Russell Island

A worker has suffered scalding from hot water across most of his body after a workplace incident on Queensland’s Russell Island this afternoon.

Early reports suggest the worker was installing a hot water system on the roof of a price residence when he was struck by hot water across his back, abdomen, arms and legs, which caused him to fall off the roof of the property.

Emergency services attended the site just before noon, including paramedics and Queensland Police.

The worker was transported by helicopter to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and is in a stable condition receiving burns treatment.
