Workers injured after falling through glass ceiling in Sydney

Two workers have been injured after one worker fell through a glass ceiling at a construction site in St Leonards, North Sydney yesterday.

The worker fell through the glass, which shattered onto another man below him.

A total of five ambulance crews attended the scene around 12:30 yesterday and treated the two men, aged in their 30s.

Inspector Alex Lim from NSW Ambulance explained that “both men, believed to be in their 30’s were transported to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.”

The incident is reminiscent of an incident at Curtin University in Perth last month, during which one worker fell through a glass ceiling and was killed, while two others were injured.

“This incident could have been a lot worse. It just goes to show how quickly a situation can turn nasty,” said Inspector Lim.

Both men are in a stable condition.
