Penrith City Council – Regatta Park

Background  

A $24-million upgrade is set to transform Regatta Park at the Nepean River into the new focal point for nature, leisure and recreation and further strengthen Penrith’s position as Western Sydney’s most liveable city. Key features of the upgrade include two new?playspaces, an accessible path?leading down to the river foreshore, over-water viewing platforms, a junior cricket oval, functional carpark and?plenty of?green open space for a variety of activities.

As part of Penrith City Councils due diligence process, Trinitas was engaged to complete site investigations to determine the presence of Hazardous Materials in buildings and in soil. High quality investigations were required to enable any hazardous materials to be removed from site prior to construction works commencing

Services Provided

Trinitas undertook several site inspections to identify with a high degree of confidence hazardous materials within soil and building materials. Trinitas consulted with the Client, remediation contractors, excavation contractors and key stakeholders to successfully deliver the following:

  • Detailed Site Investigation
  • Remediation Action Plan
  • Long Term Asbestos Management Plan
  • 141 soil samples
  • 10 air monitoring shifts
  • 8 clearance certificates
  • 222 tonne of asbestos contaminated soil removal
