Trinitas Group

Newcastle Foreshore Precinct

Project description

The Newcastle Foreshore Park Playspace is a major upgrade being delivered by the City of Newcastle. The project involves the construction of a new regional-scale inclusive playspace featuring water play elements, large play structures, and associated infrastructure, including a dedicated pump house. The overall project has an estimated value of approximately $24 million.

Trinitas Group was engaged to prepare an Addendum Dewatering Management Plan for the construction of the new inclusive playspace and pump house infrastructure. The works required significant excavation in a sensitive waterfront location, necessitating temporary dewatering to manage groundwater inflows during construction.

Trinitas reviewed updated groundwater quality data and developed a practical, risk-based dewatering strategy that included on-site treatment and targeted monitoring of pH and turbidity. This approach ensured compliant discharge to the stormwater network while supporting the project’s construction program.

By delivering a measured and site-specific solution, Trinitas helped the project team manage groundwater effectively in an environmentally sensitive area. This project demonstrates our capability in providing practical dewatering management support on complex, high-profile public infrastructure projects.
