Gunyama Park, Stage 2

Project description
Trinitas Group is proud to have served as the lead environmental consultant for Gunyama Park Stage 2, a major City of Sydney project in Zetland. This significant park expansion adds 6,300m² of new high-quality public open space adjacent to the award-winning Gunyama Park Aquatic & Recreation Centre. Working closely with head contractor Regal Innovation, Trinitas provided comprehensive environmental services throughout the remediation and construction phases to support the delivery of this vibrant new recreational precinct in one of Sydney’s fastest-growing inner-city communities.
The new stage features the largest and most custom playground ever built by the City of Sydney, highlighted by impressive long red tubular slide structures (including 37-metre junior and 57-metre senior zones), multi-level play towers, log bridges, rope tunnels, slides, swings, climbing elements, and organic play features set on generous yellow soft-fall surfacing. The park also includes a water play area, skate park, large open lawn with extensive native planting and trees, a First Nations learning circle, a new amenities building with a green roof, accessible toilets and change rooms, plus additional seating, picnic tables, shade canopies, and barbecue facilities. The park is expected to open in mid-2026
Our scope included Preliminary Waste Analysis and Classification, Asbestos control air monitoring, Visual clearance inspections and certificates, Waste Analysis and Classification, ENM Assessments, Material Import Assessments, Marker Layer Assessments, Capping Inspections, preparation of the Long Term Environmental Management Plan, and the Site Remediation and Validation Report. Following successful remediation works, a NSW EPA Site Auditor Site Audit Statement was issued, confirming full regulatory compliance and that the site is suitable for its intended public park use.
