Worker’s hand severed at NSW worksite

A worker’s hand has been severed in a workplace accident at a site in Boorowa.

Emergency services attended the scene at a wind farm around 4:30 pm, after reports of an incident.

NSW Police explained that a contractor was completing the cleaning of a concrete pumping truck when the pump was activated, and the worker’s hand was severed.

The man was assisted on-site by paramedics, with three ambulance crews and a rescue helicopter attending the scene.

The worker was transported by air to Sydney for treatment.

SafeWork NSW has confirmed it is investigating the incident.
