A worker has been killed by a falling slab of marble in a workplace accident in Melbourne’s southeast this morning.
Police and emergency services attended the scene at RHF Stone Dingley Village ar around 10am after being called by the women’s colleagues.
Despite the best efforts of ambulance workers, the woman was unable to be saved.
“A yet to be identified person was not able to be resuscitated and died at the scene,” a Victoria Police spokesman said.
“WorkSafe has been notified and are investigating.”
The worksite belongs to RHF Stone, who supply quartz stone for residential and commercial buildings.
Police have confirmed they are working to prepare a report for the coroner, alongside the investigation by WorkSafe.
