Paramedics were called to a business in Burleigh Heads today around midday, after reports a woman had been injured at the site.
On arrival, the emergency services workers treated a worker for a severe hand injury, and she was quickly transported to hospital for further treatment.
The woman is currently in the Gold Coast University hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Women generally are less likely to be injured at work, with an average report of significant incidents at around 6% of the rate of men.
