A 78-year-old man has become Victoria’s latest workplace fatality after he was crushed by two cattle at a Carrajung property in the state’s Gippsland region on Tuesday.

Emergency services attended the rural property and assisted in transporting him to hospital by helicopter.

He tragically passed away on Friday.

WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the incident, but it is understood the man was loading the cattle into a truck at the time the accident occurred.

It is the fifth agriculture industry workplace death in 2020 in Victoria, and brings the total number of workplace fatalities in the state to 15, which is nine more than at the same time last year.
