One worker dead, another injured in workplace fall near Esperance

One worker has died and another has been seriously injured after a workplace fall from heights at a Condingup property yesterday.

The accident occurred just after 2pm at the rural site, which is about 70 km east of Esperance, Western Australia.

A 25-year-old man died at the scene and another worker in his 20s was taken to Esperance Hospital.

He was later airlifted to the Royal Perth Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctor Service and is now considered to be in a stable condition.

WorkSafe WA has confirmed that it is investigating the cause of the incident and that they have sent inspectors to the scene and to speak with witnesses.

WorkSafe Commissioner Darren Kavanagh confirmed this and relayed his condolences to the family of the deceased worker, expressing that any work-related death is a tragedy.
