Worker killed after fall at Port Adelaide worksite

A worker has been killed after a fall from a roof at an industrial steel business in Port Adelaide.

The incident occurred just before 11:00 am on Saturday and police and ambulance crews attended the scene. Despite their best efforts, he died at the scene.

A report is being prepared for the coroner and SafeWork South Australia have confirmed that they are investigating.

“SafeWork SA can confirm that a worker has been fatally injured after falling from height at a worksite in Port Adelaide,” it said in a brief statement.

SafeWork has emphasised the need for businesses to address their duties, to manage the risk of falls at any height under the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2012 (SA).
